Privacy notice
Plain English, because you should not need a solicitor to understand what a car club website holds about you.
LaCar Connections is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. We collect only what the platform needs to work, we never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
What we hold
Your account email and password (stored only as an encrypted hash, never in readable form), or the basic account details Google shares if you sign in that way. Your profile: display name, country, city, bio, the topics and interests you choose to list, your meet preference, your cars and your pictures. A record of the terms and privacy notice you accepted, when you accepted them, and whether you opted into emails.
Why we hold it
To run your account and show your profile to other members, which is the service you asked us for. Consent records exist so we can show we asked properly. Marketing emails are sent only with your consent, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
What other members see
Your profile, cars and pictures are visible to other members. Your email address, password and consent records are never shown to anyone else. Do not put your home address, phone number or number plate in your profile text or pictures.
How long
For as long as your account is open. Delete your account and we remove your profile, cars and pictures within 30 days. We keep a minimal record of the deletion and any safety reports for two years, so a removed member cannot simply return.
Who we share it with
Our hosting and database provider, which stores the data on our behalf, and our email provider for account emails. Nobody else. If paid membership launches, a payment provider will handle card details and we will never see or store them.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not run advertising or tracking cookies, so there is nothing to consent to beyond the sign-in itself.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time from your profile, or by emailing privacy@lacar.club. We reply within 30 days. You can withdraw email consent whenever you like, and you can complain to your national data protection authority if you think we have got something wrong.
